Senior Technology Delivery Manager Category: Project Management Main location: Canada, Ontario, Toronto Position ID: J0123-0519 Employment Type: Full Time Position Description: We are Canada’s largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we’re still growing Join Canada’s largest IT Company as a ‘Senior Technology Delivery Manager’ in our Banking Services Division in Toronto.
Candidates must have strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure requirements are translated into specific solutions.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Demonstrate and role-model the skills and behaviors to support the performance of the team and promote a culture of high performance working.
• Proactively drive the delivery of a portfolio of projects across Technology and Business adhering to processes.
• Lead and manage technical teams in order to deliver projects meeting agreed timescales, budgetary and quality requirements.
• Work in partnership with business project managers to align status, reporting, requirements and deliveries to the overarching business plans.
• Work collaboratively with the Service Management and Operational teams to transition new services effectively.
• Create an environment to build effective working relationships with stakeholders and members of delivery teams.
• Communicate timely, accurate and appropriate information throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Provide consulting services and co-ordination, advising on the optimum strategy and governance of technical deliveries.
• Work in collaboration with departmental leads to secure resources and manage the forecast of resources for successful delivery of projects.
• Create and maintain project plans, taking account of internal and external dependencies, and interlocking with third parties and teams outside of Technology where appropriate.
• Contribute to the successful implementation of deployments and releases, identifying dependencies and risks, taking appropriate mitigating action.
• Effectively lead and manage third party suppliers to develop engagement, statement of works and delivery against those statements to quality, time and budget.
• Ensure that risks and issues are recorded and impacts assessed, identifying mitigating actions and timeframes for delivery, escalating as appropriate.
• Provide formal reporting in line with identified processes and timescales; producing ad hoc reports on request.
• Be responsible for managing deliveries within allocated budgets, providing actual and forecast costs on a monthly basis, highlighting early any areas of concern, including but not limited to, ensuring delivery against original estimates provided by delivery teams.
• Seek and Identify opportunities for continuous development and improvement, on a personal level and across the business.
• Support, promote and demonstrate CGI Values.
• Act as a role model within the business, displaying professional behaviors and promoting sound business and commercial ethics.
• Ensure certainty of approach, responsibility and ownership where process is uncertain or scope is not fully defined.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Expertise in managing delivery of projects following the PMLC/SDLC standards Waterfall and Agile
– 7 Years
• 7 years relevant experience managing application development/Infrastructure project delivery and end to end delivery process
• Delivery experience in FI space preferably in a large global bank setting
• Financial and/or capital markets experience (Liquidity Reporting experience is highly beneficial)
• Experience in managing multiple projects in the portfolio, managing the interrelationships and decision making
• Excellent stakeholder management (Across Business and Tech partners), presentation skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience working autonomously in a management role and can collaborate effectively with others to establish and execute on common goals
• Proactive, highly organized, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate high level of proactivity, initiative and strong ownership
• Experienced in working with Vendors (licenses/SOWs)
