Senior Consultant – Space

Senior Consultant – Space (Central)
Multiple Clients

Office: Downtown Ottawa

CGI delivers complex, mission-critical space software systems for clients across the globe, supporting satellite navigation, communications and operations, space science, to space enabled applications. Our heritage includes working on some of the most sophisticated geostationary and low-earth orbit satellites constellations. We are now developing services based on these networks and their data, including their command and control and the integration of satcom, 5G and Earth Observation for customers inside and outside the space industry and we are now extending our global space capability footprint to Canada.

We are looking for talented, technically minded relationship builders who is are able to identify opportunities, develop winning proposals and create long term relationships with our clients and help us grow our Canadian Space business.

Key business areas we are looking to develop include:

– Converged 5G terrestrial/satcom networks, including IoT
– Mobility applications for satellite networks
– New communications technologies and platforms
– Space system command and control systems
– Earth observation, space date processing and downstream applications

Successful candidates will be highly driven and creative individuals able to identify and work with a range of customers, understand their needs, and develop technical solutions with them. They will lead the bid teams to develop and deliver successful proposals. They will continue to work with the customer during the projects, potentially overseeing elements of the delivery, to help them identify new requirements and business opportunities. Initiative and communications skills are essential components of this role, as well as a flexible approach.

Summary

– Work for a global IT and Business Consulting firm, in a newly created Canadian sector

– Work with the SDI Director in a client advisory role, to develop key local relationships whilst project managing initial engagements

– Proven background in Military and/or Commercial Satellite Systems, with an extensive network of contacts, that includes a sound working knowledge and understanding of:
– At least 10 years’ experience in a technical or project management role in aerospace or space
– The current market for Military and Commercial satellite systems
– Spacecraft operations
– Spacecraft ground control systems
– Satellite Space and Ground Segment Systems design
– Security and Assurance
– STEM qualified
– Proven commercial experience
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– At least 10 years’ experience in a technical or project management role in aerospace or space
– A winning mind-set, self-starter and demonstrated ability to learn quickly

– NV1 ( I think this is negative vetting level 1 which is an Australian clearance)

KKey technologies to include:
– Converged 5G terrestrial and satellite communications networks and the inclusion of IoT
– Mobility applications for satellite networks
– New communications technologies and platforms
– Big data and Secure Cloud solutions
– AI, Machine Learning and Data analytics for space systems
– Earth Observation and Geo-Spatial intelligence applications and data processing
– Spacecraft and Payload Command & Control system for both Military and Commercial Space Systems
Reliability clearance is required, with the ability to acquire Secret clearance.

Desirable Skills
– Experience of working in trade bodies and with industry groups or lobbying
– Strong analytical skills
– An interest in marketing and an active social media presence in the space industry

Fonctions et responsabilités :

– Identify and qualify business prospects
– Build client relationships and interest
– Take a key role in the identified strategic pursuits
– Develop solutions encompassing CGI services, working with technical experts
– Assist the client to gain maximum benefit from CGI services, and identify future opportunities
– Support the delivery of won business by taking the role of Account Manager within the engagement
– Develop relationships with key vendors and partners
– Support the building and leadership of local delivery teams
– Travel to client locations across Canada.
– UK travel may be a future requirement.
