THE ROLEHorizon is an enterprise services platform providing content sharing and distribution, centralized license management and configuration management for virtualized and physical products in a customer ecosystem.In this role, you will be responsible for execution of and/or participation in all marketing activities related to the Horizon product line as well as future initiatives in the space, including but not limited to:Product Marketing▪ Maintenance and evolution of market and product strategy, including:o Aligning product brand, customer and user experience with Ross brando Researching market problems and competitive landscapeo Establishing a distinctive competitive market positiono Pricing strategieso Creating and sharing roadmap and release plans▪ Develop and implement key marketing initiatives related to the product, including:o Promotional literature (brochures, cut sheets, etc.)o Ads, Catalog, Website content, Product packagingo Creation and supervision of show reels & training videoso Participate in look & feel of manualso Success stories, Press releases, White paperso Demo content supervisiono Demo/tradeshow kit supervisiono Preparation of sales and dealer information packageso Planning for key trade shows (IBC, NAB)o Responsible for training internal team members on named product lines▪ Establish and foster community of internal and external expert users using social media engagement Twitter, LinkedIn, Online Forums and blogs▪ Responsible for influencing and curating end-to-end customer experience, including:o Marketing announcementso Launch and product update announcementso Download and accesso Product user experienceo Service and support experienceSales Support▪ Attend regular product strategy meetings and summits▪ Participate in key customer demonstrations and proofs-of-performance▪ Work with the sales team to design effective workflows in the pre-sales process▪ Assist RSM’s and BDM’s with responses to tender documents and other technical questions▪ Keep sales team up to date with new product status▪ Work with Product Marketing &Pricing Systems team to ensure Salesforce is maintained with recent product informationProduct Development▪ Perform duties of Product Owner▪ Articulate product vision, identify corresponding metrics and measure progress against metrics▪ Optimize the value of the work produced by the development team▪ Serve as the voice of the customer▪ Own the product backlog, which is articulated as user stories▪ Collaborate with development team to articulate user stories at the correct level of detail▪ Collaborate with user experience designers to produce designs that support product direction▪ Produce and support the creation of relevant product documentation end user guides, release notes etc.▪ Negotiate backlog priorities with stakeholders, including Ross executives, customers, partners, development team, Product Director and Technical Product Manager▪ Produce customer and user experience strategy, conduct research with customers and users and produces related artifacts, including personas, scenarios, focus groups, interviews, surveys▪ Maintain a series of artifacts used to communicate product direction with stakeholders: product roadmap, release plan, product backlog, user stories▪ Integrate ideas from customers, sales force, and engineering into killer product ideasWHAT YOU HAVE▪ A post secondary degree in a related field (Engineering, Marketing)▪ 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner/Marketing role▪ A solid understanding of broadcast & IT Systems▪ IT experience and/or understanding of Enterprise IT systems and customers (preferred)▪ Experience selling & marketing broadcast equipment (preferred)▪ Broadcast systems engineering experience (preferred)▪ Excellent knowledge of a live production environment (preferred)▪ Familiarity with software development processes▪ Sales and/or marketing training▪ Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint▪ Agile mindsetThis role requires 25% travel.
