This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted August 13, 2019.

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Project Manager for a 3 Month contract with the possibility of extension until December with our Crown Corporation Client in Ottawa, ON.

The successful candidate must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance or be eligible for it.The Project Manager will have the following responsibilities:
• Working on a technical project implementing legislative changes within the company
• Working on an operational project out west (travel not required)
• Develops and maintains detailed project plans for the Project Director.
• Prepares the project charter
• Validates plans against project charter
• Documents and updates the business case
• Prepares scope documents
• Prepares the project work breakdown structure from project team member input
• Identifies task dependencies, relationships and the critical path
• Works with project team members to develop resource, cost estimates, and schedule estimates
• Establishes project baseline for project performance measurement
• Monitors project activity flags key issues and provides status reports to the Director.
• Tracks actual, forecast schedule and cost performance and incorporates scheduled updates, and earned value to identify problem areas by developing and maintaining detailed and summary project cost reports, and detailed and summary schedule performance reports
• Maintains key issues log and tracks progress
• Analyzes issues to determine the impact on project schedule, costs and benefits
• Identifies opportunities to address schedule and cost issues
• Prepares project status reports and presentations for review by stakeholders, including union consultation(s) as required
• Tracks all change requests and adjusts the project baseline as required
• Maintains the project change control log
• Administers all requests for changes through change control process
• Adjusts the project baseline as required
• Ensures that accepted changes have been incorporated into individual work plans.
• Develops, maintains and tracks progress of the risk management plan or expenditure plan for the Director.
• Works with team members to develop the risk management or expenditure plan including confidential labour strategies and workforce adjustments
• Updates the risk management plan
• Tracks progress of risks or expenditures and identifies issues including confidential labour relations topics.The Project Manager must meet the following mandatory requirements:
• Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training
• 7-10 years of relevant functional experience
• One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset
• Experience in project support office supporting projects or knowledge of gathering business requirements (asset)
• Experience in plant process design, major equipment installation or IT related projects (asset)
• Advanced user of Microsoft tools (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point)
• Mastery of English, spoken and written (excellent writing skills)
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, set schedules, meet deadlines, handle multiple activities and competing demands, and deliver results in a changing work environment
• Availability to work, on occasion, at another site (Kanata)
• Ability to work under pressure, to work on different projects simultaneously and to meet tight deadlines
• Experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact cooperatively, effectively and efficiently with team members
• Experience with ERP implementation and software development projects (asset)
