They have completed a variety of projects internationally and have been in business since 1965, prominently in the Atlantic region of Canada. Now, they are looking to expand their offices in Ontario, starting with Ottawa and are looking for a Municipal Engineering Manager to join the team, could this be you?Municipal Engineering ManagerAs the new Municipal Engineering Manager, you will be involved in a wide variety of interesting projects working in a fast-paced environment. Your main goal will be to conduct business development activities, respond to proposals, cultivate client relationships, and manage and carry out engineering designs of municipal infrastructure.You’re someone who has experience designing pieces of infrastructure from roads to sewer systems, to pipes, overpasses and highways. You’ll have an in-depth understanding of clients’ needs and drivers in making decisions about their municipal infrastructure.Your dedication will enable us to continue to provide high quality service and maintain fast turnaround time when people need it most. Practically speaking, your tasks will include: –       Develop client base and business within the Ottawa region-       Establish a team of people in Ottawa that grows our business in the Ontario market-       Establish relationships with team members in other parts of the organization-       Identify market conditions-       Work on our projects from beginning to end (develop business, design, manager people etc.)-       Site visits and field work as needed Working Here:You’ll work Monday to Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM from the Ottawa office. During Covid, they are working from home until restrictions are lifted. They offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. They also offer an extensive benefits package, pension, health and wellness incentives, compensation for membership dues, and an optional RRSP and TSFA. Qualifications –       8+ years of experience from a consulting engineering background-       6+ years of engineering experience designing pieces of infrastructure, for example) roads, sewer systems, pipes, overpasses, highways etc.-       Licensed P. Eng with a few years of experience under your belt, managing projects, taking lead in designing and interfacing with clients-       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering –       Ability to travel across Canada when required-       Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle You’ll also be set up for success in this role if you are: –       Independent – you can work independently with minimal supervision. You’ll have support when needed, but you don’t need anyone to hold your hand –       Consultative – you are comfortable in a client-facing role, and have a natural ability to work effectively with many types of people –       A strong communicator – you’ll be interacting with clients, project managers, consultants, contractors and vendors across multiple projects.
