This role will lead a relationship driven sales team, with an overall arching focus on team development, coaching and continuous improvement initiatives to drive sales and ultimately positive customer experiences.The Customer Experience Sales Manager will be focused on excellence in sales from an operational and delivery vantage point through a team of competent crafted sales consultants that are relationship and creatively driven.THE POSITION (OVERVIEW ONLY)Major Responsibilities (Highlights)The Customer Experience Sales Manager is accountable for helping the organization evolve its sales capabilities, including coaching and mentoring staff for further success in the interest of client needs, as well as growing a strong understanding of the sales pipeline while promoting process improvements to manage the sales cycles.This role will be attractive to candidates that have an interest to inspire change while, at the same time, be hands-on with respect to day-to-day management of the sales organization which oriented to “farming” engaged relationships.We seek a leader who can coach and inspire teams during times of business growth, challenges and change to meet end client needs.

The primary focus of this role is the development and performance of all sales related activities in the Ottawa market; and to lead an experienced team towards the achievement of sales goals with maximum profitability and growth in line with the company’s vision and values.This role will participate in driving significant growth of overall revenue and margin.This role will work closely with several stakeholders throughout the organization including Business Development, Operations, Supply Chain, Distribution amongst others.This role will involve the direct management of over 10 employees.This role will help to maintain and grow profitability within the client base and help develop a strong sales pipeline understanding related to ongoing project builds.The position will be based in Ottawa with centralized leadership for the sales consulting team.Micro OverviewThe Customer Experience Sales Manager will manage all aspects of the sales consulting cycle, including:Manage/Coach a team of Sales Representatives in achieving sales quotas and in delivering customer service excellence.

Conduct key customer visits with sales reps.Ensure effectiveness of sales management process, sales tools and sales development systems.Recruit, develop, assess, train and motivate the team of sales reps.Track priority sales opportunities.Review and follow-up on regular sales reports.Monitor internal performance levels related to product delivery – time to fill rate, promotions, overall quality control related to the consulting process within an overall sales framework and product cycle to delivery.Participate in budget development.Develop the regional annual sales plan and the sales team individual sales quotas based on available sales data and budget targets.

Monitor and track performance against plan.

Key Skills & QualificationsCandidates must have a blend of expertise outlined and will include all, or a good portion, of the following core skills:A minimum of 7 years as a Senior Sales Leader in a customer product or services environment of complex services or products with end-consumer commitments.We seek highly portable skills to the sector from a sales operations and mentoring vantage point.Will be sales metrics oriented with a proven track record leading sales people who are also recognized for their depth of creativity.A strong asset would be skills gained in analogous construction sectors requiring high client personal touch.This individual will have a proven track record as a sales leader, and truly know what a professional sales organization looks like.Will have strong sales system acumen and relationship building skills.

A proven ability to further hone sales systems and organizational structures for business and client success.Exceptional customer service orientation paired with the ability to translate traits to the sales team’s delivery.Must be performance management oriented along with creating and implementing KPIs.Strong analytical and financial skills are required.An individual with strong sales and people leadership experience gained in multi-faceted sales roles, but also in the direct management of people.Ability to develop and motivate a strong sales team of leaders.Proven track record in driving productivity.Change oriented leader with the ability to drive improvements across the sales organization.Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Excel in particular.University degree or equivalent preferred.Personal ProfileMust be able to build credibility quickly with relevant stakeholders and customers alike.Strong liaising and relationship building skills with an agility to work and motivate various internal resources.High energy leader who can check their ego at the door.Strong business, analytical and financial acumen.Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.An established track record of hiring and retaining top performing employees within a direct line.Excellent negotiation and presentations skillsExceptional verbal and written communication skills; bilingualism is an asset.
