About the role Intact Financial Corporation (IFC) has prioritized helping society alongside strong financial performance and has set a clear ambition to be recognized as a leader in building resilient communities in our operating markets.

We’re looking for a Values oriented, purpose-driven leader to accelerate IFC’s Social Impact & ESG strategic plan in North America.

This is an opportunity to develop and activate strategies that help bring to life why we exist as a business – to help people, businesses and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times.

As the Director, Social Impact & ESG for North America, you and your team will be the engine behind mobilizing our business to build resilient communities and elevate IFC’s role in society.

You will work with peer roles in our UK & International operations, alongside our ESG & Social Impact reporting team, to support the continued development of IFC’s Global Social Impact Strategy and ESG framework and will lead execution in our North American operations.

What you’ll do here: Working with the Head of Social Impact & ESG of our UK & International business, be jointly accountable for developing and executing IFC’s global ESG framework Work with leaders across IFC’s North American business to advance IFC’s global ESG strategy in market, including setting ambition, performance targets, mobilizing a matrixed business to action and measuring outputs Be accountable for the execution of IFC’s global social impact framework in North America – activating strategies in climate change adaptation, creating opportunities for families living in poverty and supporting employee generosity Oversee the strategy, deliverables and partnership management strategies for lighthouse climate change investments the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation and Nature Conservancy of Canada Coordinate ESG & social impact governance, programming and community programming Contribute to and provide strategic guidance to develop IFC’s disclosure and communications strategies, including the development of IFC’s annual corporate reporting and horizon scanning Provide strategic counsel to North American leadership, including C-suite executives Act as General Manager for the Intact Foundation, the charitable giving arm of IFC in Canada Lead, support and develop a team of 4 talented, driven high performers to bring strategies to life What you bring to the table: 10 years of experience, ideally in corporate social responsibility/ESG, financial services, corporate reporting, management consulting and/or sustainable investing Experience in determining ESG materiality, impact measurement, evaluation and reporting in a corporate setting – ideally for large corporations (10,000 employees) Experience and understanding of public and private markets and integration of ESG issues Meticulous approach to project management with ability to motivate and educate colleagues on ESG topics Ability to distill complex ideas into easy to understand notions is required Strong analytical background with an ability to develop concrete conclusions and build consensus and prioritize activity Adept at interacting with employees at all levels within the organization Strong written and presentation skills Partnership management skills with a particular understanding of innovative industry/NGO shared value partnerships Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel French language skills are a significant asset IN-QC IN-ON LI-Prof LI-Hybrid What we offer Working here means you’ll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
