Position Profile: Business Development Manager McConnell Signs (MMS), Ottawa’s top ranked manufacturer of business and event signs, displays and interior decor, is seeking a talented individual to assume an important business development role in the Company.Now in our 28th year, we’re on a mission to develop new markets and find new opportunities to sell our products and services.

This package includes three weeks’ vacation, Critical Illness, Short and Long Term Disability Insurance coverage, as well as Dental Care, Major Medical and Prescription Drug coverage.

The Company currently pays 50% of the cost of these coverages.For this position, MMS also offers a cell phone subsidy and a car allowance.This Manager is also eligible for our CEO’s Discretionary Bonus Program which is awarded at the end of each calendar year.QualificationsThis professional has a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience directly related to the position, and a university degree or college diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, Advertising, Communications, Journalism or Marketing.Additional college training in Professional Selling Techniques, Project Management or Interior Design will be considered an asset.This professional is a doer and thrives on getting things done.

They shine in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.

They have a track record of success in prospecting, growing new accounts, creating opportunities for new work, preparing RFPs and quotes, and pitching new clients.An outstanding communicator (both orally and in writing), they are highly organized, and have a keen eye for detail.

He or she also has experience using CRM platforms such as Sales Force, NetSuite, HubSpot, Zoho or Maximizer.He or she enjoys working in a creative, highly collaborative environment.

They will be highly organized and have excellent planning skills.

They will enjoy working in the field, being mobile and selling to all types and sizes of accounts.

They will also have strong computer and internet research skills, and a good working knowledge of the Google Business Suite and MS Office.This professional will have an outgoing personality and the ability to network effectively at events and trade shows.

Most importantly, they must have proven business development skills and a demonstrated track record in building sales with new accounts.Experience selling to Property Managers, Building Owners, General Contractors and Interior Designers in Ottawa will be considered an asset.The successful candidate will own their own vehicle and have a valid Ontario Driver’s License.

As travel to industry trade shows outside Canada may be required in the coming months, he or she also should have a valid passport.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis Manager is an important member of Miller McConnell’s Five Star Sales and Customer Service Team.

He or she will report to Craig McConnell, our CEO.This is a full-time career position.This Manager is expected to be a major contributor to the Company’s sales and revenue performance.
