Senior Leasing Manager Management Band 3 At the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) our vision of ‘Service.

The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C.

We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention and Real Estate departments.

Real Estate manages all activities related to the leasing, construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations.

The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team.

Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, the Senior Leasing Manager is responsible to direct and coordinate the leasing of Liquor Distribution Branch properties for liquor and cannabis retail stores including lease renewals.

The position may require supervision of employees, assists in decision making processes involved in the selection of new facilities and/or the renovation or relocation or expansion of existing LDB sites: leads/coordinates negotiations with Landlords, Developers, Architects, Consultants in respect to issues affecting property, including new store construction, expansions, relocations and renovations of stores.

Involved in the initial planning of construction projects as required for the development of new and/or renovation/expansion of existing LDB retail stores and administrative facilities.

Position Requirements Education and Experience: Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or courses related to real estate and leasing, and a minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience in commercial real estate leasing and commercial property management within the last 10 years.

Recent, related work experience must include: Demonstrated experience in the commercial retail/tenant environment including extensive experience negotiating new leases and renewal options.

Experience with budget, financial management and managing a complex lease portfolio.

Experience in negotiating new and renewal terms with landlords.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following experience: Proficiency in utilizing a lease management software system.

Experience in the beverage alcohol industry.

Experience working for a government organization.
