Territory manager – Industrial

This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted December 13, 2018.

Manulift is the canadian leader of the telehandler industry, since 1978 operating the largest rental fleet of the country. We are proud of the profound knowledge we have in telehandler technologies. Our pan-Canadian expansion has propelled us to Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and everywhere else via our powerful network of 26 dealerships.

Reporting to the VP sales, the territory manager’s mandate is to promote Merlo product in the yards and industries field in North America. He will be expected to develop in various areas including municipal and institutional markets as well as all other markets where you don’t usually see telehandlers such as excavation, snow removal, landscaping, etc. We are seeking dynamic and hard-working sales representatives who have the ability to change long-standing or traditional methods to more cost-effective ways of working. The bonus structure is uncapped and the overall salary package is designed to reward performers.

Main responsibilities :

  • Research, discover and establish new business opportunities by prospecting, cold calling and create a client list (70%– 80%);
  • Daily territory management; maintain strong relationships with clients through visits to customer’s job sites;
  • Plan and organize business strategies to achieve desired results and exceed goals by selling equipment;
  • Prepare and present business cases to demonstrate the benefits and the potential saving (ROI), to key decision makers;
  • Identify customer’s needs and react appropriately while understanding market conditions and local competitor pricing.

Experience & desired skills :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in field sales/outside sales position;
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Hunter mentality with a positive attiude and high energy;
  • Demonstrated ability to grow market shares;
  • Results focused;
  • Experience using a CRM;
  • Valid driver’s licence;
  • Proficiency with MS Office;
