THE ROLE

Steeped in a rich military heritage and tradition, messes have been used by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) throughout Canada’s history to foster morale and promote military values including camaraderie and unit cohesiveness. Messes give members a strong sense of commitment to the ideas, objectives and the basic responsibility expected of them within the CAF and set the standard for military service within Canada. CFMWS provides support to all CAF messes. Specifically, PSP Hospitality Services provides expertise on operational and management practices and assists mess managers in providing quality mess hospitality services.

As a Bartender, you provide an excellent customer experience for our Canadian Forces Mess operations. During big events to every day moments, you will build a rapport with the military community and get to experience various military traditions.

The Bartender will provide a variety of services such as preparing and serving beverages, maintaining inventory of bar stock and ordering supplies and assisting in the set-up and take down of social and military functions. You will operate a Point of Sales system, provide a clean bar area and ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered

AND

Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (Ontario)

Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Smart Serve Ontario)

Experience

In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

In cash handling

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual Essential.

Writing: None

Oral: Functional

• Multiple positions available
• Up to 13 1/3 hours per week
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 50 lbs/23 kg).
• May be required to work at multiple mess locations in the NCR
