Learning Advisor

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services - CFMWS

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted August 3, 2022.


The Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) supports the Canadian Armed Forces members and their families wherever they are in the world through the provision of fitness, recreation and leisure activities, family and charitable support, retail as well as personal financial services. As a Learning Advisor, you will apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods. You will create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer. You will provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.

The Learning Advisor also researches learning and training methodologies to recommend learning solutions that will meet the requirements and audience needs. You will make recommendations for adjustments to the programs by monitoring learning initiatives and by assisting in the development of measurement tools.

This is an expert role, working as a team where you will exercise your knowledge and skills on a daily basis working directly with the business. Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, Adult Education, Training and Development, Instructional Design or a related field


  • In assessing and identifying learning needs and requirements
  • In utilizing instructional design principles and practices
  • In using eLearning authoring packages
  • In using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • In designing and developing instructor lead classroom/e-classroom and self-directed web-based training
  • In creating visual aids as support material for training courses
  • In providing advice and guidance to clients In interpreting and applying policies and procedures
