Company: Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Job Level: Professional Job Type: Full Time Job Address: PO Box 839, 1500 Kicking Horse Trail, Golden, British Columbia V0A 1H0 Job Status: Seasonal Start Date: October 13th, 2022 End Date: April 17th, 2023 Job Description: Trail Crew Team Lead Role Summary Working under the direction of the Mountain Safety Manager, the Trail Crew Team Lead is primarily responsible for ensuring the environmental control, safe condition and signage of the terrain at KHMR in addition to other diverse duties as assigned.

The Trail Crew Team Lead is well-versed in the mountain safety program and observes and reports on trail conditions, signage, and health and safety concerns and may act as a point of contact in emergency situations or health or safety concerns.

Accountabilities Assist with environmental control, including brush cutting, debris removal and trail conditioning Assist with Avalanche Control Safe operation of snowmobile in a variety of conditions Perform trail maintenance (snow farming, sign maintenance, tower pads, etc.) Perform general support duties (snow and garbage removal, assisting Lift and Safety crews) Ensure adequate signs, ropes, gates, tower pads and pylons are in place and maintained for guest and staff safety Assist with building maintenance projects and/or painting as required Operate slope maintenance or other equipment in a safe and responsible manner as needed Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant company and department policies Act as point of contact in emergency situations or health or safety concerns and advise Mountain Safety team as required Provide accurate information to guests or employees regarding lifts, trails, area facilities, services, operating hours, current events, and programs Answer questions and handle complaints in an efficient, courteous and helpful manner Assist with other Mountain Safety initiatives or programs as needed Working Conditions Ability to work flexible shifts of up to 10 hours Must be physically able to access all areas on resort on skis or snowboard (advanced riding or skiing ability) and engage in manual labour on rough terrain and harsh conditions Standard office environment with periods of sitting and computer work Must be physically able to administer first aid treatment Long periods of exposure to extreme weather conditions on resort (cold, wind, snow, altitude) About Us By joining RCR, you will become part of a passionate and dedicated team that works together to provide our guests with the best vacation and recreation experience possible.

Requirements Valid class 5 driver’ license with clean abstract Basic First aid certification with CPR; preferably Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) Ability to communicate effectively and multi-task under stress or time pressure Previous experience in an outdoors safety-oriented role Avalanche Skills Training 1 Basic knowledge of small engine operation an asset Knowledge of hand tool use and maintenance and basic carpentry skills an asset Familiarity with Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the ski terrain an asset Previous experience using radio equipment an asset Essential Skills Detail Orientation Communication Safety Orientation Motivating Performance Meaningful Recognition Conflict Resolution Team Building Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a four season destination resort located only 15 kms outside of beautiful Golden, BC.
