This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted September 8, 2020.

Salary(Grade:07) Hiring salary range $50298-$63,534 Position Purpose Under the supervision of the Senior Administrative Officer, the incumbent provides courteous services within the standards established by the University of Ottawa; which includes finding solutions to problems that clients may have.

Is responsible for various tasks associated with undergraduate academic activities (registering students, entering course marks and provides support to faculty members).

Incumbent works with another academic assistant, in order to deal with contingencies, ensures service continuity and shares workload evenly.

In doing so, the incumbent enters data in the student information system, participates in program promotion and deals with situations affecting students that require immediate action among other duties.

Essential Qualifications Completion of post-secondary education or 5 years of equivalent experience.Knowledge of various collective agreements i.E.

APUO, APTPU, CUPE due to various union regulations pertaining to hiring, salary scales and maximum hours of work allotted.Experience in analyzing academic files.Experience in academic orientationExperience in applying policies and proceduresExperience in using various software and applications such as Brightspace, uoCampus, Concur.

Ability to understand and interpret the needs of the student population as well as the faculty.Have a high level of organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet firm deadlines.Ability to work in a team environment.Have strong communication, interpersonal relations and problem solving skills.Ability to multitask effectively and with attention to detail despite numerous interruptions.Absolute discretion in the handling of academic records.Have the flexibility and ability to take on occasional additional duties as necessary.

Have sound judgment and cultural sensitivity.
