The Telesat Lightspeed Configuration Management Specialist will help drive the Telesat LEO Program by coordinating information management, providing support through data analysis, tools management and implementation, and contributing to the overall strategy development and performance evaluation of complex program operations.

You will be responsible for program documentation and monitoring as well as tool selection, implementation, and support.

This position is within the LEO Program Management Office and will support the PMO and various segment Project Mangers working on the LEO Program.The ideal candidate has previous experience as a Project Analyst, and is enthusiastic about being part of a team that is diverse and at the top of its game.

Main Responsibilities:The Configuration Management Specialist will work with other team members in the following capacity:Document Configuration ManagementEstablish and maintain program CM systems, including the program documents, ensuring all required process steps have been completed prior to release and documenting released configurations.

Maintains all program data, files, reports, briefings, drawings and documentation (internal and contractor provided)Assists in data searches for historical documentsEnsures the data storage locations are properly secured, backed up, and safeCDRL and SDRL Manager: Maintain central source of truth on contract data deliveries Serves as the recipient of data deliveries from LEO contractor data environments/physical deliveries (Note: PMs and Lead may be copied on the deliveries) Notifies the appropriate personnel/teams of the arrival of contract deliverable (CDRL) data Notifies reviewers of CDRL review requirements, as necessary Tracks CDRL review progress and feedback (in coordination with the PM/Lead for that particular CDRL) Maintains awareness of the location and type of program data that has been received, cataloged, reviewed, and stored Supports Program and Technical Reviews by distributing and maintaining Briefings and Objective Evidence Participates in contractor Configuration Management Boards, ensuring a record of minutes, actions, and decisions is established and properly communicatedProcess Definition & Implementation Define/Update Process for Documentation Management from a CMO Perspective Define/Update Process in Relation to Tools Administration from a PMO PerspectiveTools Administrator: Provide appropriate access to various support tools used by LEO Team (Jama/Jira/SharePoint/Document Centre) Coordinate with appropriate internal and external parties to ensure external portals are established for secure exchange of information Manage Tools configuration and coordinate version controls according to an established process for various tools such as SharePoint, JIRA, JAMA, Primavera, etc.

Working with domain experts, evaluate best tools to use and make recommendations, harmonizing different tools amongst vendors where possible and understanding licensing strategy to manage costs Develop, implement, and maintain scripts and tools for automating the program management processes Contribute to Project Planning by supporting: Maintenance of plans for the LEO Program and Projects, Participating in strategic planning with regards to program development Creation of Program communicationsSupport Evaluation and Monitoring of Program Progress: Support the creation and managing reports and documentation in relation to the project; including timelines, resource plans, and meeting minutes Finding out the needs of users have and verifying this using data Tracking, analyzing, reporting on, and forecasting project shortfalls and metrics.

Prepare presentations and regular status reports, serving as the main source of information about the project to external teams.Education & Experience RequiredSpecialized Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelor’s Degree, Library Information Science/College Degree in Information and Library Technologies related field or equivalent combination of related experience and education (each two years of related experience can substitute for one year of education) 10+ years of related experience in Data Management or Configuration Management ProficiencyAsset:10+ years of related experience in Data Management or Configuration ManagementStrong verbal and written communication skills in dealing with clients, internal and external stakeholders, senior management and staffAbility to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical individualsExperience with multi-disciplinary, high-performing system or product development teamsA team player, collaborative and independently drivenMust demonstrate a flexible, open-minded attitude and have strong interpersonal skillsExperience effectively leading meetings and facilitating groupsExperienced and skilled in the use of Oracle PrimaveraExperienced and skilled in the use of Microsoft ProjectExperienced and skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel – Intermediate Level (Pivot tables, formulas)Experienced and skilled in the use of SQLExperienced and skilled in the use of Microsoft Power BIBilingual in English and French an asset (but not required) Decision Making & Supervision:Decision MakingIn this role, the incumbent will have significant influence on the execution of the applications and infrastructure for the LEO program.

They will need to make recommendations and decisions based on their experience.

Supervision ExercisedThis role has no direct reports, but will work and interact with multi-disciplinary engineering, contracts, legal, and commercial teams.

Working Conditions:Working conditions are typical of an office environment.

Occasional travel, including international travel, is possible.The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
