Tuesday, February 11, 2020 Technical Writer, Lynx Modernization| About the roleReporting to the Manager, Lynx Operations, the Technical Writer is responsible and accountable for supporting various projects and operational activities with a focus on process documentation, specifically relating to Payments Canada’s internal business processes and procedures, operating model and other operational readiness documentation required for the new large value settlement system, Lynx.

The Technical Writer will support process and procedure development as well as existing process modification and improvements that impact multiple divisions across the organization.| What you’ll be doingWriting easy-to-understand business processes and procedures, including process flows, descriptions and supporting reference documents for multiple business areas within Payments Canada.End-user documentation needs analysis.Working with subject matter experts to create, edit and improve procedures, and policies as required.Developing and maintaining sample technical and user documents and templates.Produce documentation related to project delivery and support the overall approval process.Review and ensure that operational documentation is accurate and complete.Identify hypertext links to ensure process flow; test final documentation to ensure that hypertext links are accurate.Analyze existing and potential documentation content, focusing on reuse and repurposing.Consult on content approaches with subject matter experts.Create drawings and diagrams to increase user understanding (for example, technical diagrams and process maps, etc.)Ensure that documentation is aligned with application workflow.Conduct reviews of documentation to identify content gaps.Assist in the development of training material as required| What we’re looking forPost-secondary education in technical writing and/or journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience of more than 8 yearsExperience in defining procedural documents such as process flows for complex multi-stakeholder solutionsExperience or a high degree of exposure to Enterprise Architecture, Application Development, Cloud Technologies, and IT InfrastructureExperience in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersGovernment of Canada Level II Secret Security Clearance, or eligibility to obtain| What we can offer youCompetitive compensation packageHealth and dental benefitsDefined contribution pension planFlexible work arrangementsProfessional development opportunitiesPrime downtown locations (Ottawa & Toronto) close to transit and shoppingGym and shower facilitiesBike lockersPlease submit your application by February 25, 2020.
