We are looking for qualified Senior Marine Technologists for our Ottawa, ON office to support Life Cycle Material Managers (LCMMs) in the Department of National Defence.

LCMM’s are a vital asset to the Engineering team who are responsible for managing the life cycle of vessels.

Support to the LCMM’s would be in the form of producing Statements of Work (SOWs), interpretation of technical documentation and management of DWPs/Refit and maintenance documentation.

Qualifications: Extensive experience, (10 years in the last 15) in the Hull, Marine Engineering, Marine Electrical, or Combat Systems field and one of the following A degree, diploma or certificate (in the applicable field) from a recognized educational institution or regulatory body (eg Professional Engineering or Technologists and Technicians Associations), as applicable; or A minimum TQ6B, or equivalent, from the Royal Canadian Navy.

Experience in the Technical Data Management and Life Cycle Material Management work processes of DGMEPM is considered an asset Experience working in a shipyard setting is considered an asset Experience in a Quality Assurance Role is considered an asset Proficient in technical writing with MS Office Must have attention to detail and strong organizational skills Must be able to meet project deadlines with minimal supervision Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian government security clearance and Controlled Goods Key Responsibilities: Assist the Class Maintenance Manager in writing, reviewing, amending contract documents such as SOWs, DIDs, and CDRLs; Assist the Class Maintenance Manager in the review, update, and management of maintenance documentation such as SSMRSs, PMRSs, Trial Agendas, and R&O Specifications; and Read and interpret technical documentation, drawings and specifications by assessing technical content and quality for acceptance; Manage Technical, Administrative, Operational and Tactical publications and database under our contracts; Provide guidance in all aspects of planned and corrective maintenance.
