Securitization Analyst

They provide analysis for financial decision making to support the Securitization Lead and other related duties.

As the successful candidate, you will be required to work autonomously to interact with several sectors of the organization and all levels of management to interpret information and provide professional support.

In the interest of continuous improvement, you will keep up to date on new developments in your activity sector and formulate recommendations to upgrade processes, systems and procedures.

Major Responsibilities Conduct analysis to assist in the maintenance of a corporate-wide methodology for asset securitization programs Complete and maintain process documentation Analyze changes in the securitization industry and make recommendations Assist with Bulk and Transactional Insurance Process Prepare journal entries for Securitization activities Analyze set financial models to provide support to the Securitization Lead with financial decisions, as required Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as required Analyzes and reconcile the monthly reports to ensure accuracy.

Ensures any discrepancies or process disconnects are identified, tracked, and resolved.

Participates in cross-functional projects, as required Assist with accounting memo Investigate discrepancies with other departments accounting, financial reporting and credit operations Assist with process improvements across the organization Assist the Mortgage Securitization Representative Assist 3 rd Party Fundings prepared by Mortgage Securitization Representative Train and educate Mortgage Securitization Representative on new regulatory changes 3 rd Party Mortgage Management Complete and maintain process documentation Analyze 3 rd party mortgage data Follow up with 3 rd party vendors if there are any discrepancies or anomalies Internal and External Reporting Month-end for Alterna Savings and/or Bank, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations as requested Assist in performing CMHC Reporting Support Financial Reporting activities as requested Assist in providing internal reporting on 3 rd party mortgage acquisitions including overseeing the Shadow File process Analyze3 rd party funding management Support ALCO reporting activities Adhoc internal and external reporting Query management Bulk Insurance Management Assist in providing oversight bulk insurance process pre-pooling including ensuring regulatory compliance and external reporting requirements are met.

Review and Reconcile Bulk Insurance reporting Qualifications Working towards professional designation CFA, CPA or MBA t, or Student Certified Financial Analyst with extensive GAAP reporting experience in public companies and/or financial institution Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in a similar role Knowledge / Skills Knowledge of the Canada Mortgage Bond program, Asset Back Commercial Paper and Commercial Mortgage back securities About Alterna Savings Alterna Savings and Credit Union Limited (Alterna) has been the good in banking™ for over 110 years, and based on assets under management, is one of Canada’s Top 10 credit unions (CCUA, 2021).
