We are looking for a Project Engineer to join the Diavik Closure Team and advance engineered design aspects of the closure study.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Closure Readiness and working in a diverse group within the Closure Department, you will be responsible for: Managing engineering service provider to deliver closure engineering FS designs for all site closure components: Processed Kimberlite Containment Facility, Rock Piles, Surface Water Infrastructure, Mine Workings, North Inlet, Landfill, Landform and Reclamation.

Provide ongoing technical / engineering support to Diavik site and Project stakeholders involved in progressive reclamation planning and execution and advocate for Operational management of facilities to align with closure objectives and designs.

Work with Project Execution team to advance closure trials, coordinate constructability reviews and workshops and contribute engineering elements to the development of a final project execution schedule.

Liaise between the Study team and site to coordinate and advance preferred designs to a FS level execution plan that is integrated with area specific closure schedules and critically review all information necessary to support FS level cost estimates
– direct and indirect.

What you’ll bring Engineering degree with at least 5 years of experience in design, construction and/or operation and maintenance of mine site engineered structures; Dam engineering experience is an asset; Remote mine site experience is an asset; Talented in technical writing and editing; Demonstrated excellent communications and inter-personal skills Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
