Job Description DELIVERABLES The Resource(s) will be responsible for the following activities and deliverables: 
• Enable operational performance management, resource management, and monitoring of the Exadata platform o Identify key criteria for capacity and resource measurements for the Exadata platform relative to the Bank of Canada architecture and use cases o Develop a capacity planning management process, relative to the established criteria, for the Exadata platform o Identify the core skills/training paths for administrators required to perform capacity and performance management o Identify key criteria for evaluating the health of the Exadata solution relative to its functions and posture, including: § Global data Services § Active Data guard back-up and restore process § Commvault integration and restore process § Virtual infrastructure § Database delivery § RAC services delivery § Service templates (for DBaaS) § Security monitoring § DBaaS Automation § Software and patching (for both db and Exadata) § Management tier applications (including Oracle Advanced Support Gateway, OEM, Observer) § High-availability with component failure impact analysis § Disaster recovery tests § Capacity, or performance issues o Configure health monitoring tools, including integrations, to provide notifications and alerting for health-related incidents o Identify and execute, an action plan to resolve any current health, capacity, or performance issues o Provide a knowledge transfer session: § performance management § resource/capacity management § health monitoring § Management tier applications (architecture and deployment)
• Enable operational delivery of a cloud control framework for DBaaS o Conduct workshops to determine the architecture requirements and features for OEM in relation to DBaaS o Document and facilitate achieving stakeholder approval of the DBaaS Deployment Architecture (DBaaSDA) o Provide a detailed implementation plan for DBaaS (including skill set requirements and risks) o Validate pre-requisites for DBaaS in accordance to standard Oracle OEM o Document, deploy, and test the DBaaSDA (including; security, zones, pools, and self-Service portal) o Validate alignment of DBaaS specific metrics with the broader resource and performance management and monitoring o Test the DBaaS functionality with end ‘users’ to achieve acceptance of self-service processes o Stretch objective Provide a high-level architecture for VRealize integration points with the DBaaSDA
• Support the completion of the operational deployment of the Exadata solutiono Support, including configuration, of any remaining technical debt o Testing of any solution feature required to fully complete the Exadata deployment to-date o Remediate or update any configurations related to Exadata integration points for: § Applications § Network infrastructure § Security tools (including Checkpoint firewalls) § Monitoring and logging tools 
• Provide a project close-out reporto Provide a detailed report including lessons learned for the activities explicitly detailed in the SOW o Identify any current risks or future opportunities relative to the Bank’s continued use of the Exadata platform, including: § Operational procedures and practices § Incident management and troubleshooting processes § Security and solution integrity § Automation and orchestration § Service management § Human resources
• At the outset of the engagement, work with the Bank of Canada project team to establish clear milestones and a cadence for communicating progress reports relative to deliverables 
• Follow all Bank processes relative to data integrity and data protection 
• Follow all Bank ITS practices for change management 
• Facilitate knowledge transfer in all circumstances 
• Participate in meetings/workshops as requested 
• When necessary, provide off-regular hours support for changes that must be performed during non-business hours, as per ITS change management practices 
• Complete testing and QA activities relative to any changes 
• Fully document all activities and results or outcomes as per Bank standards QUALIFICATIONS 
• Minimum of three (3) years working directly with a similar deployment 
• Experience and reference from previous engagements that included a successful implementation of a live production Exadata environment Assets: 
• Working knowledge and experience implementing an Exadata solution in a software defined data centre environment 
• Working knowledge and experience integrating an Exadata solution with: o Cisco ACI based network o VMware NSX o VMware Vrealize Automation o Checkpoint firewalls o F5 Loadbalancers o Infoblox o Commvault
• Working knowledge and experience of implementing an Exadata solution in a 3-datacentre configuration.
