Legal Counsel Contracts

This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted November 19, 2021.

Job Description Position Description Reporting to the Director, Procurement and Senior Legal Counsel , the Legal Counsel
– Contracts drafts, reviews, negotiates, and manages various contracts, including the interpretation of such contracts and the implementation of amendments.

Primary Responsibilities Independently draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of agreements.

Liaise and collaborate with external and internal Fidelity business partners to ensure the necessary legal documentation is completed in accordance with timelines as well as Fidelity policies and procedures.

Assist in the continual improvement of processes, documentation, and practices to achieve a more efficient workflow.

Assist with supplier sourcing, onboarding, and engagement as well as ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Education, Experience and Licenses Law degree Minimum 4 years post call experience in the legal or procurement department of a large commercial organization or a large law firm Experience in contracts required Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada Prior mutual fund industry experience, an asset Skills and Knowledge Excellent contract drafting skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Superior communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills to collaboratively solve legal issues Knowledge of corporate law Flexible working style that is responsive to competing priorities Proficiency with MS Office Suite In order to be considered, applicants are required to submit the following: Cover Letter Resume Transcripts Note: Given the current circumstances, the resource will be working from home 100% of time.
