Lead-System Engineer

Hands-on function that ultimately results in the delivery of an application or service.

Responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques, primarily through software development throughout the vertical stack.

Defines designs; Provides technical enablement for application components and subsystems for an Application(s).

Drives important design decisions for development team.Key Roles and Responsibilities: Elaborate the design and interfaces for specific components including: Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context; Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partners with those teams in elaborating the Solution and its interfaces; Validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives; Establish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others.

Create and enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline including: Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the system solution and explore alternatives; Develop the Architectural Runway in support of new business Features and Capabilities; Work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers; Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, retrospective workshops; Understand technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms.This position is an acknowledged technical authority and internal thought-leader on AT&T technologies, that provides hands-on function that ultimately results in the delivery of an application or service.

Responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques.Responsibilities Include: 30%-Drive high availability and reliability using industry standard tooling and solutions to address operational critical issues.

Provides an executive and strategic hands-on function that ultimately results in the delivery of the CSO IAM Applications.

Responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques, primarily through software development throughout the vertical stack.

Defines designs; Provides technical enablement for application components and subsystems for an Application(s).

20%-Lead and conduct periodic reviews of architecture, design, and code quality.

Develop the Architectural Runway in support of new business Features and Capabilities; Work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers; Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, retrospective workshops; Understand technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms 20%-Synchronize System and data security and quality, scalability, performance, and other non-functional requirements across Applications, Environments, and Infrastructure Standardize and create best practices in resiliency and reliability.

Solve complex operations issues, root cause analysis, and solution implementation.

Prepare reports and findings that can be shared across the implementation teams.

Introduce and instill the culture of resiliency within delivery teams 15%-Understand and communicate strategy and key business drivers for architecture, to technical and non-technical stakeholders; Choice of technology and usage-research and prototyping, understanding applicability and scope, and assessing the maturity of innovative new technologies; Solution architecture Infrastructure -reuse of configuration patterns, common physical infrastructure, and knowledge sharing across teams.

15%-Collaborate and lead vendor management to ensure there is a strong focus on finding new technologies and tools that can solve and simplify operation tasks.

Manage vendor relationships with Amdocs, IBM, Insight Global, TekSystems, TechMahindra.

Facilitate meetings, reports and work collaboratively with other teams in a cross functional environment to support delivery.Job Contribution: Acknowledged technical authority and internal thought leader on ATT technologies.Accreditation, Certification, or Licenses: : MS or equivalent security & network certificationsTraining and Special Skills: Acknowledged technical authority and internal thought-leader on AT&T technologiesExperience: Typically requires 10 years’ experience.

Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.Supervisory: No.Required Qualifications 10 or more years related technical architect experience Proficient in access and transport technologies (FTTx, xDSL, optical, aggregation, RAS, OTN, DWDM, etc) Proficient in engineering cost estimates and economic analyses and models.

Well-versed in enterprise architecture/IT strategies Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs.

Knowledgeable in message and conference systems and networks (multiple media, notification, presence, unified communications, video) Proficient in Network and Systems architecture (subsystems, interfaces, hw/sw dependencies).
