The Opportunity

Minto Group is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Systems Management & Architecture team as a key resource in supporting Minto’s ERP system landscape. This role will report directly to the IT Infrastructure Architect in Ottawa. The Systems Management & Architecture team is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, security, testing, monitoring, and escalation support of IT Infrastructure including Server, Virtualization, Storage, Backups, Data Networking, and Security.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Systems Management & Architecture, Business Systems, and Project Management teams to track all system changes planned for implementation within the ERP system landscape. This includes infrastructure, system and business/functional changes
  • Ensure the ERP landscape is kept up to date to maintain security and supportability. Lead upgrade projects to keep current on all versions
  • Execute system updates to the ERP systems, including database copies/refresh cycles and software patches/upgrades
  • Enforce policies and controls to ensure proper environment segregation within the ERP landscape
  • Collaborate with external vendors to ensure 3rd party software updates are promoted through the landscape adhering to policy
  • Assist with building of test plans, scenarios, and scripts to support QA/UAT efforts
  • Collaborate with team members to manage existing SaaS solutions to ensure required environment integration
  • Monitor system performance to ensure the ERP landscape is running optimally. Recommend and execute modifications as required to maximize performance
  • Conduct routine license and systems capacity analysis
  • Review ERP and database logs for abnormalities
  • Execute system trace activities to troubleshoot issues
  • Manage end to end resolution of major incidents and determine root cause. Liaise with 3rd party vendors as required
  • Ensure established IT Governance Controls and Standards are maintained within the landscape. Recommend and implement changes to address compliance issues
  • Periodically test recovery and business continuity solutions for the ERP landscape
  • Ensure all environment changes and approvals are logged and documented in the Service Management tool
  • Recommend and execute modifications in the environment to improve overall efficiency, reliability, security, and performance

We would like you to have:

Formal Education & Certification

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer sciences and/or 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Microsoft MCITP certification desirable
  • ITIL v4 certification desirable

Technical Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 mandatory
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 mandatory
  • Experience with NewStar ERP desirable
  • Experience with MuleSoft desirable
  • Experience with SalesForce desirable
  • Experience with Hyphen desirable
  • Experience with Procore desirable

Work Conditions
