Industrial quality inspector – ottawa

This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted August 8, 2019.

Randstad is hiring on behalf of one of our most prestigious partnering companies.

Our Global client is opening a new Production facility in Ottawa and is building a successful team to drive and support their Operation.

We are looking for qualified and experienced Industrial Quality Inspectors to work at our Ottawa plant.

This job will require travel and cross border training for the first 6 8 weeks to their Operating facility in New York state.

Responsibilities1.

In Process & Receiving Inspection of Components, Assemblies and Vehicles to established criteria and specifications2.

Maintain Inspection Records per Component, Assembly and Vehicle3.

Assist Project Quality Manager with Inspection Plan4.

Initiate appropriate Quality improvement actions in support of Project’s Quality objectives5.

Inspect components/assemblies to established criteria and specs6.

Identify inspection status on components and assemblies7.

Initiate Non-conformance Reports for non-compliant product8.

Verification of field modification and/or first article inspection requirements9.

Perform Supplier Source Inspection when required10.

Maintain Inspection Records, Unit History Documentation, Vehicle History books11.

Participate in Customer Joint Inspections12.

Use of micrometers, gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment 13.

Approve rework, waivers and dispositions14.

Identify supplier quality issues for resolution15.

Review past inspection data for critical information16.

• High school Diploma a must, 2 year Associate Degree a plus
• 4+ years quality inspection experience within medium/heavy manufacturing industry,
• Rail experience an asset
• Fluent in English
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications
• Microsoft Excel & Word a must
