EHS Compliance Specialist (18 month term)

is part of the BWXT nuclear power segment (NPG) of BWX Technologies, Inc.

We are currently looking for a EHS Compliance Specialist (18 month term) for our Kanata location.

Qualifications Certificate in Health and Safety or any other relevant field, preferably CRSP certified Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards (CLC, OHSA and CSA) Experience with construction safety regulations and standards Experience as a trainer on topics related to health and safety Experience with the application of health and safety management systems Ability to carry out inspections and audits Excellent time management and organization skills Excellent writing skills, particularly for procedures and internal communication Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint) Experience in a nuclear facility would be an asset Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility would be an asset Experience with fire protection requirements for nuclear facilities would be an asset Responsibilities Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of the Work Permit Authorization program Review and approve work permits Identify hazards associated with field work and determine appropriate mitigation measures Perform and document routine inspections of work areas Investigate incidents related to health and safety Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Develop and review health and safety procedures Verify compliance of existing programs with current regulations Develop and deliver health and safety training Support the procurement of health and safety goods and materials Perform internal audits BWXT ITG Canada Inc.
