Job ID: 41484 Job Type: Direct Hire Category: Business Analyst Location: Calgary, Alberta Our amazing client is one of the largest horizontal and directional drilling service providers in the industry.

As a multinational service provider, they are committed to developing leading-edge technologies and achieving continuous improvement through a systematic approach to reliability, quality, and safety.

They are currently looking to hire a knowledgeable Business Analyst to join their team in their brand-new department in this newly crafted role.

This candidate will be in their downtown office in Calgary, but will also frequently travel to the US, working with operations in Houston.

The Business Analyst will work with users in various departments to identify business change needs, assessing the impact of the change, capturing, and documenting requirements, and ensuring those requirements are delivered, while supporting the company through the implementation process.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Business Analyst will report to the Digital Strategy & Implementation Manager and Information Technology Manager.

The key job functions are: Working with users in various departments to identify business change needs, assessing the impact of the change, capturing, and documenting requirements and ensuring those requirements are delivered Providing assessments and solutions for operational requirements and inefficiencies by analyzing reports, market research and operating procedures, strategizing ideas to improve business operations, and meeting with stakeholders with suggestions based on their analysis Identifying specific business opportunities through data gathering and analysis Coordinating and delivering effective solutions that provide tangible benefits within short and long timeframes Assisting with project management for selected projects Testing business processes and recommending improvements Performing data discovery, analysis, and modelling Converting roadmap features into smaller user stories Writing clear and well-structured business requirements and training documents; communicating relevant information to the applicable department Identifying automation opportunities and providing recommendations Creating / utilizing reports, dashboards, and visualizations to understand business performance and help informed decision making Analyzing process issues and bottlenecks to make improvements Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher (business analysis, programming, or computer sciences field preferred) Qualifications: Vaccine mandate in effect Criminal record check required Experience: Minimum of 5 years working as a Business Analyst and / or Project Manager 2-3 years of overall software related technical analysis experience preferred Previous SQL or Business Intelligence (BI) experience preferred Solid understanding of document management and various business document correspondence Able to work with various functional organizations (Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, Information Systems) to solve technical challenges Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including ERP and WMS systems Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects independently Meet deadlines and complete tasks in an accurate manner Exceptional logic and critical thinking when problem solving Capable of forging strong relationships and facilitating a team atmosphere Excellent communication skills Base Salary: $105,000 – 125,000 per year Full benefits package included RRSPs Work Hours: 40 hours per week Travel between Cad & US – 25% Additional Notes: This opportunity does not include relocation.

It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
