Brand PR Coordinator – Part Time

Job Description We’re a fast-moving fashion company that empowers our people to be innovative, creative and always focused on providing the best service to our customers.

We’re looking for someone to support public relations efforts for our Canada PR team to help tell these stories and shape our narrative for our customers, employees and partners.

A Day in The Life No day will look the same for the Brand PR Coordinator , who will be responsible for supporting communication programs that align with business and company strategies.

One day could include managing media outreach for Holiday and Anniversary Sale (our biggest campaigns of the year), while the next could involve attending PR strategy meetings for a new brand launch, researching media trends, or gathering key metrics with our vendors and partners to measure impact.

The specialist will work cross-functionally with our CSR, Corporate and Internal Communications team to ideate, create, share and track various forms of communications.

Responsibilities include… Assist the Brand PR team with the execution of PR campaigns and new-to-Nordstrom products and brand launches Manage campaign assets including images, videos, media lists, press room content and merchandise samples Draft written communication and other media outreach materials including pitches and press releases Create campaign reporting documents; pull reports from Cision , TrendKite and MRP monitoring software and develop press coverage recaps and campaign archives Monitor Nordstrom Canada daily press coverage and track impressions using MRP Maintain a strong understanding of available tools/techniques including new media platforms and industry communication tools, and apply new & effective approaches to tasks and initiatives Execute business processes and procedures to support the department Review operating practices and procedures, determine whether improvements can be made and work to implement changes as appropriate Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of information being processed, stored or accessed Research and resolve issues using appropriate resources Virtual and (when possible) in-person event planning and on-site support Provide administrative & travel support to the corporate affairs organization as applicable You own this if you have Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience Minimum 1
– 3 years consumer PR agency and/or consumer PR in-house experience preferred Prior PR experience across national and regional markets in Canada with strong existing media relationships Interest in consumer behavio u r , lifestyles and trends; demonstrated proficiency and competency for fashion, hospitality and retail culture Strong understanding of Canadian retail industry and knowledge of competitor landscape Proficient in communication industry and social media platforms, as well as various tools and vendors for tracking and reporting press coverage Excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong interpersonal skills Strong project management, time management and organization skills with attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Working understanding of the use of all types of media Ability to work with all levels of employees, including senior leaders Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a highly cross-functional environment Strong sense of curiosity, grit and a passion for problem solving Commitment to customer service and superior quality deliverables Proficiency in MS Office suite This role will be remote through at least July 1, 2021, with the potential to extend further.
