Advisor, Innovation and Change (Position can be located anywhere in Canada)

About the role We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships.

You will lead daily activities and drive strategic planning initiatives to support CMHC’s current and future objectives while enhancing governance, efficiency and effectiveness.

You will act as a champion in the face of change, builds relationships with management, identifies areas for innovation ranging from setting strategy to process excellence to new business opportunities, and identifies ways to effectively communicate changes to senior management and the broader organization.

Your expertise leading by example and effectively driving and implementing change management initiatives will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.

What you will need
• Undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce or a related field and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

• A Master of Business Administration, Business Systems, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or Change Management certification are considered a strong asset.

• Minimum of ten years of demonstrated experience in managing complex transformation efforts and leading others through change or equivalent experience in managing larger teams to deliver complex projects;
• Strong background in processes, controls and systems.

• Ability to create transformation solutions and support their design and implementation.

• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Ability to persuade, influence and debate with senior level management.

Tact, diplomacy and judgment are required.

• Demonstrated experience in building strategic partnerships.

• Proficiency in program and project and change management.

• Strong time-management skills and the ability to analyze and understand large volumes of data.

What you will be doing Networking and Visibility
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with each sector, acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor with respect to change, innovation and process excellence.

• Serving as key liaison/primary point of contact for the sector and representing the sector on key cross-sector innovation and change initiatives/committees
• Support the development of sector and divisional transformation plans required to achieve strategy efficiently and effectively as possible
• Serve as a change agent for the sector and a key influencer for peer group and the sector
• Maintain a detailed understanding of corporate and sector strategy to support in prioritizing initiatives, defining scope and delivering results.

• Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior management and team members on the impact of project implementation on the overall strategy.

• Maintain industry relationships and an awareness of best practices in the areas of innovation and process excellence.

Project Management and Communication
• Lead the development of performance measures and indicators that ensure innovation and process excellence strategies are aligned with corporate objectives and divisional goals.

• Serve as project lead for some initiatives and key subject matter expert on others, where applicable.

• Support project teams in establishing the proper governance structure for the respective initiatives.

• Communicate new ideas, support creation of high-level plans and lead the building of solutions to support organizational needs and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

• Recommend solutions regarding resource constraints and conflicts that affect the program to ensure projects remain on time, on budget and within scope.

• Manage risks, issues, opportunities and change initiatives within program areas.

• Oversee the development of communications related to innovation and process excellence strategies and relevant technologies and prepare reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Strategic Planning and Change Management
• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of innovation and process excellence strategies, including relevant technologies and human capital.

• Act as a catalyst for organizational change by building a shared vision with colleagues and influence the translation of vision into action.

• Design solutions and implement collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
