Event Planner


This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted April 30, 2018.

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced bilingual Event Planner to assist planning an annual national conference. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with a large scale conference with high level attendees.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute event;
  • Oversee the planning and execution of logistics and operations for private meetings, conferences, and other related special events;
  • Manage facility selection, contracting, pricing, transportation, accommodations, food and beverage selections and audio/visual service arrangements;
  • Oversee the production of the event – work with the event committee and internal/external stakeholders on all aspects of event planning;
  • Strategize floor plan, budge, event materials and accessories;Negotiate and manage contracts with sub-contractors and vendors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in high level event planning such as conferences, fundraisers, or other events on a national or international scale;
  • Must have strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication and public relation skills;
  • Ability to organize meetings, events, also prepare background and other related communication materials;
  • Experience using MS Office i.e.. Word, Excel, Outlook, Outlook Calendar, and Power Point;
  • Must be bilingual;
  • Must hold a valid Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
