Digital Marketing Specialist


This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted June 10, 2018.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: May include some or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains the website via our CMS – Content Management System.
  • Email marketing campaign creation and deployment as well as management of our email database.
  • Social Media posts and monitoring.
  • Paid and search advertising and campaigns for marketing and other departments as warranted.
  • Maintaining the marketing intranet pages.
  • Providing quarterly digital recaps via analytics or as needed for various campaigns.
  • Plans, develops, administers and monitors a project and/or process
  • Collaborates with internal and external contacts on strategies to maximize effectiveness and minimized cost.
  • Oversees the production and/or distribution of marketing communication materials.
  • Develops, tracks, and meets the capital and expense budget, generally at the project level.
  • Ensures work product meets approved company standards and guidelines. Modifies work product if corrections are needed.
  • Teaches, trains and coaches staff on effective use of marketing materials, new material release, and where appropriate measurement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies and tactics and share with management on a monthly basis.
  • Assist field with on-site staffing throughout the Region in support of key customers events and opportunities such as open houses, trade shows, association events, etc. as needed or requested. Ability to travel to Regional locations as well as short and limited travel outside Canada 1 – 2 times/year.
  • Uses basic graphic design terminology, layout and design standards.


  • Degree in Marketing discipline with an emphasis on digital platforms.
  • Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
  • Experience with website management and email marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of social media marketing, SEO tools, web analytics, and experience with paid searches.
  • Basic software skills in Adobe and Adobe Creative Suite and/or STRONG skills in Microsoft Office for editing and changes to existing artwork files, template usage and for creation of presentations.

Language Skills

Excellent English, oral and written skills a must. Bilingualism in French a strong asset


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

This person must possess a valid driver’s license. Digital Marketing Certifications a plus.
