Join a national organization and play an important role in the Canadian co-operative world as a Communications Coordinator.

Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is the national association representing co-operative and mutual enterprises, sectoral federations and provincial associations. CMC promotes the development of Co-operatives across the country by representing co‑operative interests with government and conducting research to improve public policies. CMC serves as a common table for co-operatives and mutuals in Canada.

Main tasks

Under the supervision of the Communications manager, the Communications coordinator is responsible for managing social networks, websites, and providing technology support to the CMC team.

More specifically, you will be led to:

  • Manage CMC’s various social media platforms;
  • Write content (English / French) to post on social networks;
  • Develop marketing and web communication strategies;
  • Perform website updates via CMS (Drupal and WordPress);
  • Coordinate communication activities between CMC departments (advocacy, development, communications and engagement);
  • Provide technology support for telephone meetings and webinars;
  • Perform other related duties.

  • A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, journalism *;
  • You have three (3) years of experience in the field;
  • You are bilingual (English and French, written and spoken).

* Any combination of training and / or experience deemed equivalent will be considered.


Your profile

  • You distinguish yourself by your creativity and your ability to innovate;
  • You excel in written communication and have good marketing skills;
  • You are on the lookout for web trends and intimately understand social networks;
  • You have experience in the co-operative business model (an asset).
