Join our growing team in developing the next evolution in smart home and home automation.

Our small multi-disciplinary team is looking to expand.We’recurrently looking for a motivated and capablemanufacturing techniciantoassist withourOttawa-basedmanufacturing efforts, and tosupport ourcontract manufacturers domestically and abroad.As amanufacturing technician, you will be responsible for helping usassemble and build early-stageproducts,while documenting the process and providing feedback to the design and productdevelopmentteams.This position requires an individual that has akeenattention to detail and a critical eye.In addition to building product,the manufacturing technician will be responsible for identifying potential areas ofconcern,andoffering suggested improvements to reduce manufacturing defect rates andtoimproveyields.The candidate should be willing and capable of providing input and direction throughout thedesign/manufacturing and aftermarket supportprocess.

Furthermore, the individual must be capable of working equally well in a team as they do independently.This position will requireworking closely with QA, Product Management,SoftwareandHardwaredevelopmentteams,and third-party companiesand partnersonproductcustomization.At Swidget, every member on our team is critical in our mission toredefineSmart Home technology.If you are passionate about finding solutions and are interested inIoTand home automation, this role might be the right fit for you!WhatYou’llBe Doing:Assemblingmechanical parts and testingassemblies in accordance withproceduresand drawings.SolderingPCB assemblies.Debugging,documenting,and repairingfailures(under engineeringsupport).Other tasks related to device manufacturing.Providing input on new product design, and continuously improving the experience for our partners, commercialclients,and end-users.WhatWe’reLooking For:2+ years experience in anelectronics assembly and test environmentthat includesmechanical assembly and testing.Good familiarity withconsumer electronicsmanufacturingprocessesand requirements.Working knowledge of IPC requirements; IPC certificationis preferred.Able to read mechanical drawing and electrical schematics.Strong soldering skills.
