For more information, visitwww.Telesat.Com.PURPOSE OF JOBParticipate actively in the software architecture development of the Telesat Lightspeed System Model, a state-of-the-art engineering tool running on high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for the modeling of resource allocation and end-to-end communication system performance analysis of the Telesat Lightspeed constellation MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in the software architecture development of the System Model in Matlab environment, to help take it from an engineering tool to an operational production engine for business applications; Participate in improvements to the version control and release management system; Contribute to the selection and adaptation of a job orchestration system; Closely collaborate with other team engineers developing the System Model; Interface with other teams to successfully integrate the System Model into business applications as requiredWrite technical documentation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDB.Sc.

in Computer or Electrical EngineeringA minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software developmentAdvanced coding skills and experience in Matlab and other programming languagesExperience with agile development is desirableExperience with containerized computing is desirableExperience with job orchestration systems is desirableExperience with cloud deployment of applications is desirableExperience in satellite and/or communications systems is desirable Specialized Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCreative problem-solver with thorough attention to detailHighly collaborative team-player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammates.Excellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliers.Experience with business considerations and practical limitations related to system design and implementation.Ability to prioritize opportunities, needs and resources.An aptitude for and interest in complex technologyFluent in English, written and oral.DECISION MAKING & SUPERVISION:Decision Making In this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the software design of the Telesat Lightspeed System Model.

Occasional international travel is anticipatedThe successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
