Duties, Responsibilities and Accountability: § Be a vital member of the Video Contents Analysis group in architecting, designing, and advancing, computer vision (CV) solutions for the automated motion control of PTZ cameras and robotic motion control systems.

§ Engineer all aspects of the video analytics block using traditional CV algorithms and/or deep learning (DL) approaches choosing whichever approach makes most sense for a given application.

§ Own, evolve, and anticipate requirements for the video analytics block based on a market need to properly position Ross Video for continued success.

§ Train networks as required; specify hardware requirements; manage not over or under training of networks.

§ Collaborate with the entire product development team and recognize that overall success means everybody on the team needs to succeed.

§ Produce and maintain design documentation.

§ Efficient and systematic debugging skills.

§ Ability to judiciously optimize the design to achieve performance, but still meeting the schedule.

§ Translate use case requirements into high-level design requirements and be able to drill down to detailed design requirements.

§ Ability to recognize when a design is “good enough” for a given application.

§ Balance applied research in order to keep abreast of the best design practices with the need for product development.

Job Requirements: Knowledge/Education/Training: § Detailed understanding of prescriptive CV and DL approaches applied to quasi real-time environments.

§ Detailed knowledge of modern neural network models and know which ones are best suitable for various applications.

§ An overall strong software, hardware, and systems development understanding.

Traits: § Crystal clear communicator in both intra and inter-departmental contexts.

§ Organized, detail orientated with strong observational skills § Self-starter, quick learner and can work with minimum supervision in meeting schedules and project deadlines.

Able to seek out resources required to “get the job done”.

§ Able to work independently or as part of a dynamic team.

§ Incessant customer focus and tremendous pride of ownership are vital.

§ Ability to zoom in to focus on the detailed when needed, but also possesses the ability to zoom out for higher level overview approaches as required.

§ Ability to work with incomplete information, yet still move the projects ahead through real-time clarification of blocking issues and judicious assumptions which are subsequently validated.

§ Recognizes the need for the right amount of documentation.

§ Able to mentor and willing to be mentored.

Experience: § OpenCV, DL frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc) transfer learning, model optimization/validation in solving real world problems.

§ Digital camera image processing chain.

§ C, C++, C#, Java, Python, and CUDA.

§ Robotic motion control experience would be awesome.

§ Agile software methodologies would be beneficial.

§ Visual Studio IDE.

§ Localization, collision avoidance, SLAM.
