We optimize the life cycles of our global customers by innovating what is available, to access the unavailable.We offer a competitive compensation package and a business culture which rewards performance.For additional information on Renaissance, please visit our website at www.Renrns.Com.Overall Requirements:Our Engineering Department is looking for an experienced, high-energy Systems Engineer with an in-depth practical knowledge of legacy and current telecom equipment.Experience with platforms produced by; Nortel,Ciena, Ericsson,Tellabs, Cisco, Nokia, Fuji etc.Will be extremely beneficial.If you have the ability to research and select specific network subsystems and configure minimal functional shelf environments that would allow system testing of individual UUT cards, as well as, Solution efficiency, hands-on aptitude and ability to improvise we are looking for you.Responsibilities: Spec out configurationand setuptest requirements for a wide range of telecom equipment platforms.Integrateandmaintain complete test solutions including test equipment selection.Troubleshoot, determine platformrequirements with little technical documentation, andprovide guidance to procurementParticipate in NPIintroduction andassist with estimation of cost and effort to introduce new platforms to repair processes.Develop and document testing instructions, configurationand methodologies for theassigned platforms prior to their release into engineering and repair operations.Trainfloor technologists on new platformtest procedures.Education & Experience:A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or at least 5+ years of relevant experienceAdditional Qualifications:Understandingconcepts behindOSI,ETH, LAN, WAN,PSTN,PCM, DS1, DS3, T1, E1,SONET,SDH,TDM, ATM,DWDM, CWDM, OADM,etc.Solid understanding of various network topologies and architecturesKnowledge ofvarious types of communicationbuilding blocks such asterminals,cross-connects,repeaters,amplifiers,opticalchannelinterfaces, transponders,supervisory channels, etc.Proficient in using advanced communication test sets and selecting specific parameters for running various types of traffic and bit error rate measurements, using OTDR, etc.Solid understanding of analogtelephonyandPlain Old Telephone Service.Runningsystemdiagnostics,systemscommissioningandprovisioning advancedsystemsconfiguration,debuggingand general troubleshootingScripting skills in Linux bash, TL1, CLI, Lua, Expect, TCL, etc.Understandingof RFandWireless Communication Systemswould be an assetExperience with projects in Defense area is an assetExperience in Optical telecom systems test, DWDM, etc.
