Cyber Security – Principal Software Engineer in Test 

THE POSITION

Blackberry is seeking a talented Software Engineer in Test to join our cylance on-prem team. Cylance on-prem is a standalone version of the Cylance Protect security product intended for isolated or air-gapped networks. As a member of the test team, you represent our customers and their users to ensure every aspect of the product is simple, intuitive, and works as expected.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build and maintain advanced tools for test automation
• Help identify weaknesses in our products
• Work with the development and test team to help define, implement, and maintain quality standards
• Analyze test case failures and perform root cause analysis as appropriate
• Take ownership of product quality

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years min of Software Testing experience
•  Proven and demonstrated experience of programming with Python.
• Advanced problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• Proven and demonstrable skill in Python or similar programming language
• Experience in writing test automation for web UI applications & APIs
• Experience working with black-box and white-box testing methodologies
• Working knowledge on tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and on Agile teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to review and apply architectural documentation.
• Takes initiative and ownership, and approaches all tasks and projects proactively 
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Mentor and help grow other SDETs technical skills.

ABOVE & BEYOND

• Experience with Performance testing
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, React, SQL
