Pay and Benefit Specialist

Job Description

Myticas Consulting is currently looking for a junior and an intermediate Pay and Benefits Specialist to provide additional support to the team processing payroll and benefits’ for 900+ employees.

Reporting to the HR Manager Shared Services, the Pay and Benefits Specialist’s will support employees and the HR group with exemplary customer service in the following areas but not limited to payroll, benefits, leave management, return to work programs, HRIS systems administration, policies, and procedures.

The responsibilities and day-to-day activities of the Pay and Benefit Specialist are not limited to the following:

  • Provide support to process bi-weekly payroll
  • Provide support to Pay and Benefit team with Month End payroll reports
  • Support the current Pay and Benefit team with internal semi

    – annual pay and benefit audits

  • Provide back up and daily customer/employee support in all HR functional areas as required (i.e.

    vacation, illness)

  • Provide back up and support on leave management cases (STD/LTD) working with the current Pay and Benefit team
  • Provide back up to processing invoices using Spendmap
  • Support the current Pay and Benefit team with corporate audits and compliance reviews
  • Support the Pay and Benefit team in preparation of termination packages, indeterminate employment agreements as required
  • Support annual benefit enrollment working with the current Pay and Benefit team
  • Support HR Inbox and HR Training Inbox – employee enquiries to Pay and Benefit department
  • Assist with Pension administration (DB, DC)
  • Support and assist with document/update policy and guidelines for HR processes, and new legislation working with the current Pay and Benefit team

Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of Payroll Administration required ( junior)
  • 5+ years of Payroll and Leave Management (intermediate)
  • College or University degree, Payroll education/certificate
  • Professional designation or equivalent experience (i.e. CPM, PCP)
  • Client facing role requiring excellent communication skills
  • Experience working with Ceridian or ADP
  • Benefits administration including disability management
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure data integrity, high attention to detail
  • Solid knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act and employment law
  • Live in Excel intermediate to advance
  • Thrive in MS Office, Excel and HR systems
  • Quick learner
  • Must have Government issued Security Clearance
