Position: Help Desk Technical Support
Location: Ottawa
Salary: From $42K to $50K per year, based on experience + excellent benefits and pension

Are you fluently bilingual (French/English) with at least 3 years’ experience in Help Desk Technical Support and looking for permanent employment offering challenge, stability and growth?

Our client has an exciting opportunity for someone to join their Ottawa office and play a vital role within their IT Services group.

Providing help desk support, you will act as a primary IT Help Desk Customer Service Contact and be responsible for front-line services regarding technical issues and work collaboratively with other IT team members to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include:

– Providing excellent client services, working efficiently and timely to resolve technical issues
– Demonstrating a high level of patience and empathy, and providing guidance and technical expertise in a clear and concise manner
– Participating in process development, implementation and improvement exercises, reporting major incidents, and performing root-cause analysis
– Assisting in the creation of Service Delivery Reports and participate in discussions and meetings regarding major incidents, root-cause analysis and prevention


– Fluent bilingualism (French/English) – mandatory
– 3+ years of experience working with desktop computers, supporting MS Windows environment (7+/2008+), and providing support via telephone and email – essential
– Excellent communication skills, strong time management skills, and ability to prioritize tasks and interact with individuals at all levels
– Discretion with confidential issues and data; ability to work within multiple reporting relationships
– Ability to obtain a criminal record check – a must
– Ability to occasionally travel to community offices – required
– Excellent knowledge in Active Directory user management (user account creation and maintenance), desktop and associated hardware (PC, printers, copiers, monitors, etc.), desktop software (Microsoft OS and productivity software, internally developed applications, etc.), telephony (Mitel 3300, BlackBerrys and other mobile devices), connectivity (LAN, WAN, wireless, WAN accelerators, etc.) and MS Exchange user management
