RESPONSIBILITIES To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position.

All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Satcom Direct (SD) operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance.

The successful candidate will assume an embedded software development role as part of our Satcom Technology Team.

They will focus on the future of communications products, assuming responsibility for product design, development, and software for embedded systems for the aviation market.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience, 5 years in a programming language an asset 2-3+ years of experience in Embedded system development on Linux, on x86, ARM, or PPC architectures Experience developing software under DO-178C; DAL-C development a plus Experience with Green Hills Software MULTI and INTEGRITY Experience with Multiple Level Security type systems and DO-326A is a plus Experience with AFDX/ARINC 664 Experience with ASCB Rev C and Rev D Linux Kernel development – device drivers, board support packages TCP/IP networking C/C++ Good scripting language skills (ex: LUA, Perl, Bash, Makefiles, etc) Experience developing with other programming languages: ex: PHP, Python, Javascript/HTML5.

Familiarity with bug tracking and testcase management software such as Jira, Bugzilla, Testlink, Zephyr or similar products Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to interact successfully with internal and external stakeholder Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Self motivated Effective and confident decision making and problem solving skills Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment Ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent organizational skills and time management skills GCC tool chain experience Familiarity with development using DO-178B and/or AS9100 quality management processes Experience in u-boot development Experience in TCP, UDP protocol design Knowledge of hardware/IC design Experience working on ARINC 429, 615A, 717 communications systems Experience in enterprise software development, Experience working in an agile development environment a plus SD is committed to hiring the most qualified candidates for approved company positions, without preference to any individual on the basis of race, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
