Human resources manager – bilingual


This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted January 15, 2020.

Human Resources Manager opportunity available with our private sector client in Downtown Ottawa.

This is a 6 month contract that has the possibility of being extended.

This role requires experience working within a unionized environment.Roles and ResponsibilitiesSupports the full recruitment cycle, including the initial review of all applicationsCoordinates the organizational onboarding process for new employeesPerforms HR administrative duties such as organizing meetings with bargaining units, preparing agendas, taking minutes and ensure follow up of action itemsPrepare staff development training and monitors completionCoordinates and manages the STD and LTD plansAssist in the benefits administration as requiredManages the grievance and arbitration processQualifications and ExperienceMust be fluently bilingualA minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in Labour Relations and collective agreements Familiarity with interpretation and application of Collective Agreements, the Ontario Employment Standards Act, the Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Visio, training platformsNice to have:Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or working towards the designation;University degree in administration, human resources, labour relations or related fields;Education and CertificationsMinimum education required: College DiplomaHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pmFree ParkingHealth BenefitsWe are an inclusive employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
