Salary(Grade:NM3) Hiring salary range $99919-$137,393 Position Purpose Provides senior solutions architecture leadership and enterprise level advice to the organization, with a focus on teaching and learning solutions.

The Solutions Architect is responsible for translating overarching business requirements and designing, defining and implementing solutions to ensure that the University’s teaching and learning solutions are implemented consistently, based on best practices, aligned with financial budget and maximizing the University’s technology investments.

Ensures alignment with the Enterprise Architecture principles and priorities, and balances teaching and learning business needs for access against security and performance requirements.

Collaborates with several project or solution teams, acting as visionary to provide the direction and to define the solution roadmap for the use of appropriate and sustainable teaching and learning solutions.The University has been recognized as one of the National Capital Region’s top employers in 2019.

Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s in computer science, information systems or a related field; Eight years’ experience with solution architecture strategy and design consulting, supporting large-scale systems in a multi-platform environment; Expert knowledge ofconcepts, philosophies and tools behind application design, information and information technologies; Proven record of applying common solutions patterns and middleware solutions; Experience with vendor and open-source solutions including design patterns; Experience with learning management systems and related teaching and learning solutions; Experience with data integration and integrating software-as-a-service solutions; Experience working in a diverse work environment, with a broad understanding of multiple business sectors, hardware and software technologies, data and information management practices, and IT security; Knowledge of leading vendor platforms such as VMWare, Oracle, F5 and IBM, as well as mainstream open-source frameworks and products; Ability to apply project management methods and processes to define, plan, cost, resource, track and ensure achievement of goals; Ability to work both independently and in a team environment; Ability to explain technical concepts in a non-technical manner; Ability to proactively keep abreast of new and emerging trends and technologies in teaching and learning ; Bilingualism French and English (written and spoken).
