Lube Technician


This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted August 31, 2018.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Nortrax Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment in the field;
  • Project a positive and professional attitude in dealing with customers;
  • Maintenance and care of shop tools, equipment, and vehicles if required;
  • Maintain a clean work vehicle and perform miscellaneous duties associated with the job;
  • Perform road service or in-shop work as required;
  • Maintain good lines of communication with inside service staff ;
  • Keep accurate records.


Health and Safety: 

It is our expectation that all Nortrax Employees will conduct their work in a safe manner, abide by all Nortrax safety policies and report all hazardous conditions and unsafe work procedures.


Working Conditions: 

Although much of time will be situated in a field/shop environment, occasional travel to other branches may be required.


Minimum Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Licensed heavy equipment technician or completed college apprenticeship program
  • Valid Class “D” driver’s license
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with tractors and equipment;
  • The work done by this technician is not fully supervised; therefore, the technician must know the detailed construction of many products in order to determine the work required and must have the skill and knowledge to perform such work properly;
  • Team player with drive to provide customer satisfaction;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Dynamic personality, self driven with high initiative and integrity;
  • Computer skills;
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve and prioritize;
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on equipment as prescribed in Customer PM agreements with a focus on customer satisfaction and maximizing profits to the dealership;
  • Must have flexible hours, weekend work required.
