Donor Relations Administrator


This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted July 24, 2018.

Our nonprofit sector client in seeking a Donor Relations Administrator to join their team. We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience in the nonprofit industry, is experienced in Raiser’s Edge or a similar donor/fundraising software, and someone who is very organized. The ideal candidate must be an expert in multi-tasking, must be deadline driven, and be a self-starter. If this sounds like you apply today!

Roles and Responsibilities

Provides administrative support to the Development Team
Formats letters, conducts mail merges, produces labels and prepares envelopes
Creates, maintain and updates reports and spreadsheets for financial tracking
Maintains fundraising database including data-entry, and updating of donor information
Coordinates direct mail program including; tracking of donors, mailings, sponsorships and all receipting
Tracks, evaluates, and measure donor data and metrics
Maintain monthly development dashboard which provides an overview of monthly revenue and donor activity.
Dashboard should indicate metrics and measurement against all annual targets
Prepare a detailed monthly report for Finance of all donations received
Liase with Finance to prepare all reporting and assist with audits as required
Perform monthly reconciliations, donor reports, and transaction summaries for Finance
Process all monthly gifts (credit cards and online)

Qualifications and Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work closely and cooperatively with others across the organization and externally
Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work independently
Project management and organizational skills required to manage daily workload, set priorities, meet deadlines and ensure efficient, timely service
Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Sound judgement, tact, diplomacy and maturity in dealing with others (donors, volunteers, Board, staff and the general public)
Ability to work independently and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude in a deadline driven environment
Proven experience of data analysis, data segmentation and statistical understanding

Must have:

Minimum education required: Post-secondary education preferably in fundraising or nonprofit related studies or business administration
Minimum 2 years of administrative experience with preference to nonprofit experience
Experience with fundraising database programs (Raiser’s Edge) is a must

Nice to have:

Knowledge of BBNC is considered an asset
Bilingualism is an asset

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: College Diploma
Preferred field of study: 3 year Bachelor of Administration

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00-4:00pm (flexible). Bus accessible.
