Senior Project Accountant

SNC LAVALIN

Job Description TransitNEXT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin.

SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that TransitNEXT, has reached financial close on the Trillium Line Extension project.

As the sole proponent in the TransitNEXT team, SNC-Lavalin will design, build, finance and maintain the new extension, and will also assume responsibility for the long-term maintenance of the existing Trillium Line.

As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are seeking a Project Accountant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Project Accountant will be responsible for financial and cost aspects of project reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Working closely with the project team in order to prepare and present financial summaries
• Prepare project monthly cash flow forecast, quarterly forecast, and annual budget
• Prepare project month end results; including cost actual, reconciliation, project and financial report
• Monitoring project costs and commitment to budget and forecast
• Provide variance analysis (P&L and Balance Sheet)
• Prepare consolidated monthly financial reporting packages
• Manage on a monthly basis the accounting financials: Billing; Payables, Receivables, Bank Reconciliation, Tax remittances
• Work with project manager in client billing Liaise with Project Controllers / Cost Controllers / Project Managers to ensure finance is up to date with the most current information
• Complete Project Status Report on a monthly basis
• Adhoc duties as required Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Designated accountant (CPA)
• More than 8 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in Oracle / ACCPAC or JDE (an asset)
• Advance Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, independent, and ability to execute
