You don’t hesitate to go above and beyond to help the team and your colleagues enjoy working with you.What will you do as a Senior Accountant?Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role:Take a leadership role on the full accounting cycle (results consolidated under IFRS) for multiple development projects;Work with development finance team to analyze actuals against budget;Prepare and review internal and external partner and lender reporting for various buildings including a community utility business;Liaise and work with other departments and external partners to perform accounting tasks and ad hoc analyses of development projects;Perform monthly calculations, reconciliations and recording of revenues, various fees, interest and commissions for each project;Prepare and review timely month-end close and ensure recording all pertinent transactions including setting up monthly accruals;Prepare and review regular bank and trust deposits reconciliations;Assist with construction draw and treasury processes as required to facilitate payments of development costs;Prepare and process cash calls, record and reconcile project distributions/contributions to ensure sufficient project liquidity;Assist in cash flow reconciliations and analysis;Provide support to the audit and tax teams, including managing elements of the monthly sales tax remittance and credit process, respond to queries;Assist in supervising junior staff as needed;Assist in periodic compliance reporting to lenders, government, partners (training will be provided);Monitor cashflows and prepare monthly cash management reports including distributions to ownersComplete recovery ratio analysis and provide NOI commentary for stabilized propertiesWork closely with accounts payable team to ensure payables process is running smoothly to support timely payments to vendors and stakeholders;Participate in monthly operational/financial review meetings;Review, analyze and process property budgets for stabilized income properties;Participate in various special projects;Other support as requiredWhat type of experience is required?These are some of the things we would like you to bring to the table:Completed (or close to completing) CPA;Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience;Strong technical accounting knowledge, IFRS and ASPE;Audit and/or real estate industry experience is considered an asset;Ability to plan, organize and manage work with minimal supervisionIntermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word;Strong communication and organizational skillsHighly skilled at multi-tasking and identifying priorities.Bonus, if you have experience in the following areas:Experience with JD Edwards system an assetWe look forward to hearing from you, but please note; due to the high volume of applications, only candidates who qualify will be contacted.Dream Unlimited is committed to workplace diversity and provides accommodations to applicants with disabilities throughout our hiring process
