We’re looking for an innovative, results-oriented individual to work collaboratively with our team to provide strategic financial support and analysis and drive continuous quality improvement to facilitate CFHI’s success and financial performance.

We are seeking a full-time Director, Finance to join our dynamic organization.

Working closely with the Vice-President, Corporate Services, the Director, Finance will lead CFHI’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.

The Director, Finance establishes financial reporting systems with controls and standards to safeguard CFHI’s assets and will be the strategic business partner supporting both CFHI and executive business leads by providing decision support and strategic advice on financial matters.

The Director, Finance is the lead for all financial matters, interpreting client needs and aligning to CFHI’s contribution agreement while ensuring financial reporting integrity.

The Director, Finance will ensure that the financial dimensions of CFHI’s strategic plans and operational activities are effectively implemented, and that results are monitored, objectives are attained, fiduciary responsibilities are upheld, and appropriately communicated to the stakeholders.

The Director, Finance will be responsible for developing a high performing Finance team providing highly responsive financial support and strategies to our Program teams and will be innovative with a drive to continuously improve the financial service delivery through system enhancements and process improvements.

The Director, Finance will have strong business acumen and excellent analytical and financial skills, with the ability to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities.

The Director, Finance will be well-versed in all aspects of finance with a personal, flexible, diplomatic and respectful demeanor that demonstrates their ability to serve as a team player, mentor and leader to motivate and inspire staff and colleagues.

CFHI is now growing as an organization and faces growing demands of continuous excellence in financial performance and reporting with active management of CFHI’s operations.

You will also need to have the following minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Commerce or a related field required.

CPA, CGA or CMA professional accreditation required.

Minimum ten (10) years of progressive management experience in finance and financial management roles.

Bilingual in English and in French is preferred (English communications skills at Advanced “C” level; French communications skills at Intermediate “B” level).

Collaborative and inclusive leadership style; Experience of having final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.

Extensive knowledge of the investments and various asset categories including bonds, equities, hedge funds, and pension funds.

Proven analytical skills including risk management assessment, financial forecasting and modeling; successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organizational and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.

Proven ability to drive process improvements and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; well-organized and attentive to details.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial concepts and to deliver financial presentations to a non-financial audience; Must thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to foster strong internal and external relationships.

Sound knowledge of accounting and reporting software, specifically Microsoft Dynamics GP and BOARD.

Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite products and Office 365.
