SummaryReporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting and Consolidations, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Consolidation and Financial Reporting team with close processes, financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements including maintaining property plant and equipment (PPE), asset retirement obligation (ARO) and intangibles schedules.ResponsibilitiesHelp coordinate and execute the quarterly consolidation and close process that drives the financial statements of Terraform Power and Brookfield RenewablePrepare, record journal entries (depreciation/amortization/acquisitions/dispositions) and complete monthly general ledger close functions for assigned areas, including PPE, ARO, and intangibles (collectively “Fixed Assets”)Reconcile the balance in the Fixed Assets subsidiary ledger to the general ledgerConduct periodic impairment reviews for Fixed AssetsPrepare supporting schedules and analysis required for financial statement disclosures, management reporting and audit evidenceAssist with Internal Controls and process improvementAssist with other SOX Compliance responsibilitiesAssisting the FP& A team in year-end fixedasset fair value processAssist with technical accounting and non-recurring transactions, such as acquisitions and divestituresPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsSolid analytical abilities, combined with being detail-orientedHigh energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activitiesSuperior interpersonal abilities including an ability to get along with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible mannerStrong problem-solving, time management and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) English is essential, bilingualism is considered an assetResourceful, well organized and the ability to prioritizeQualificationsRecognized professional accounting designation (CPA)Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of progressive work experienceStrong financial systems experience, including advanced ExcelFixed Assets accounting experience preferred, but not requiredPublic accounting experience preferred, but not requiredDemonstrated knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP*Please note that this is a 1-year contract position.OverviewBrookfield Renewable is one of the core businesses under Brookfield Asset Management (“Brookfield”), one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers.
