Accounting Clerk

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted October 25, 2018.

Our private sector client is looking for an accounting clerk for a short term contract position. This is excellent accounting experience that could possibly lead to an extension.

Responsibilities
-Keeping financial records updated and verifying the accuacy of invoices, and accounting documents
-Mainting accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions
-Entering data into software programs (QuickBooks) to process operational transactions
-Compiling data and preparing a variety of reports
-Reconciliation of records with appropriate parties

Qualifications and Experience
– Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
– Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
– Data entry skills and a flair for numbers
– Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (QuickBooks)
– High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
– Customer service orientation
– Required experience: Bookkeeping 1-2 years

Education and Certifications Minimum education required: College Diploma Preferred field of study: Accounting. Relevant certifications are a plus.
