(NYSE: XPO): The Operations Manager provides support to home delivery services for a designated market region and is responsible for managing daily operations of motor carriers.This role also maintains a positive and ongoing relationship with the external customer and is responsible for generating positive customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily operations and overall direction, coordination and evaluation of a Last Mile customer based home delivery operations for a furniture retailer.Managerial responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.Responsible for recruiting and managing contract carriers operating 7 days per weekPartner with customer to build relationships to ensure continued operating improvementsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelorโ€™s Degree2 years of related logistics management experience, preferably in home deliveryExperience in contract carrier recruitmentClear and concise verbal and written communication skillsPrevious managerial experience of frontline staffExcellent interpersonal skills and problem solving abilityAbility to multi-task various functions simultaneouslyStrong fluency in business computer applications including web based applications and MS Office, specifically ExcelMust be willing to work flexible schedule We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
