Job Description

The St. Elias Centre has been providing a high level of service in Ottawa for over 30 years,

We require a Chef who is dynamic , creative and a great team leader.

Description:The Chef will be responsible for providing leadership and management within a food service environment.

  • Lead and supervise a team of employees
  • Ensure that all food service standards and quality requirements are met
  • Menu planning, ordering & Inventory
  • All aspects of catering management
  • Hands on food preparation and serving
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations are followed
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Training and development of employees


  • Minimum two years Chef and or Sous Chef or Kitchen Management experience in a busy fast paced food service environment
  • Chef papers or very strong cooking capabilities with a proven history and track record required
  • Strong communication & supervisory skills
  • Experience in menu costing, menu planning and food preparation
  • ServSafe training an asset

Health & Safety Certification an asset
